Impact Shorts 3DF 4.0

I have been riding and racing bicycles, formerly at the national and international level, for over 30 years; I know how good cycling shorts should fit. These are not those shorts. These would be perfect if I were still racing motocross, as the cut is decidedly more biased for a more vertical body position rather than a cycling position with a more bent hip angle. Adding to this is the position of the chamois pad, not extending back to the actual location of one's sit bones. I was going to try these for an enduro mountain bike race, but within about a minute of riding back and forth in front of my house, I realized that these would definitely not work. Again, on a dirt bike, with a more vertical riding position, alternating between sitting and standing, these would be fantastic. And the butt pad is nearly perfectly positioned for that as well. Unfortunately, that's not what I bought them for.

Love my 4.0 impact shorts. Perfect for Enduro MTB. My only gripe is that they are never in stock!

I purchased the Impact Shorts 3DF 4.0 after a friend recommended Leatt Helmets and checking out the brands other gear. I'm an intermediate rider and was looking for a pair of shorts with a chamois and more hip/thigh protection than my existing shorts. The Impact Shorts 3DF 4.0 are low profile and fit perfectly, without being too bulky. I wear a 36" pant and the fit on the XL is spot on. The hip pads add that extra layer of protection and are perfectly positioned as to not impede with movement while pedaling. Quality is top-notch and I look forward to purchasing more Leatt gear for my adventures.

These shorts are really nice. The XXL fit well even though I'm a size 40 and sizing chart only goes up to 38. I chose these over the 5.0 due to the seat protection which is a must for me since I ride offroad and enduro for over 30 mins at the time. They're not bulky either so your pants will still fit great unless they were already too tight to begin with. I haven't fell on them (yet) but they feel like they would absorb a lot of the impact.
